MLT Presents "2010/2011"
JENNY’S HOUSE OF JOY- Written by Norm Foster (Show dates November 17-20, 2010).
Directed by Kathryn DeLory.
Written in 2006 as a companion piece to Outlaw (2004), Jenny’s House of Joy is a fresh new comedy about the world’s oldest profession. Our title character employs 3 ladies of the evening at her house in Baxter Springs, Kansas, 1871.
Audition Date: Sunday, August 8th, 4:00 p.m. Callbacks TBD.
Location Markham Little Theatre Backstage, 9250 Highway #48, on the Markham Museum grounds at 16th Avenue. Please note: the Museum grounds are undergoing renovations – our temporary entrance is off 16th Avenue through the Heritage Plaza. There will be someone at the gate to greet you.

Characters
Jenny: The self-titled Madam of the house. She has a no-nonsense approach to business and relationships. 30+
Frances: Bitter and jaded. Soon it will be time to move on, but she doesn’t shirk from the plain truth. 45+
Anita: Young and naïve. Always looking for the good in everyone and trying desperately to better herself. 20+
Natalie: The inexperienced newcomer. Natalie has something to prove to the other Ladies. 20+
Clara: The wife of a Jenny’s House patron, Clara seeks answers and understanding at the point of a gun. 50+
Audition Format - General auditions – no booked times. Auditions start at 4:00 p.m. The doors will be open at 3:30 if you wish to review the script. The Rehearsal schedule is usually 2 week night evenings and Sunday afternoon over the course of 8-10 weeks prior to the performance week. For a musical the rehearsal schedule may be as much as 12 weeks.
